Beside You: Chapter XIV

Connie’s POV

I came closer to the girls and sat under an umbrella. Taylor and the other girls were laying sunbathing as the boys were playing soccer. I couldn’t stop thinking about Cameron and what just happened, his lips about to touch mine.

.- So? What happened?.- Taylor asked

.- Oh Taylor, i didn’t notice you were next to me.- i said

.- Of course, because your mind is set on a guy named C-a-m-e.-

.- Okay, I got it. It’d help if you could be more i don’t know dissimulated?.-

.- Please tell me you kissed him.-

.- Taylor! I said dissimulated! Didn’t you hear?.-

.- I can’t believe this! You kissed him!.-

Cameron turned around and he looked at us, hopefully a little confused.

.- No, I didn’t kiss him. But let’s go to somewhere else and I’ll tell you what happened.- I said

We stand up and went to some bar near them. We sat and we asked something to drink. I used this time to tell Taylor what just happened on the pool with Cameron.

.- You have to have really bad luck to be interrupted in such an ‘almost’ amazing kiss. I can imagine you died when you had Cameron’s abs on you. Woah that’s really cool Connie.- Taylor said

.- Oh God Tay…- i said

.- Don’t be silly. You both belong together.-

.- But there’s is Zach.-

.- So? If Zach is a good brother he would let you be with the guy you like, doesn’t matter if he’s or not his best friend.-

.- Is just that my brother is really jealous Tay!. He’s amazing but whenever he sees me with a guy is another Zach. But I guess you’re right, I shouldn’t care about him.-

.- Of course. You just have to care about the guy with green eyes and abs.- she said

We just stayed there like a long time talking and drinking sodas. Once we finished we went where the other guys were. It was getting late so we decided to go home. We started to plan what to do that night, I think we were all really tired so we didn’t want to go to a party. Well, not all of us, Kate wanted to go to some party and drink… Anyways there was some kind of fair with some awesome games. We had a mini ‘debate’ but we finally decided to go there and hang out for some hours.

In home I took a shower. I kept thinking about him. It wasn’t a problem anymore to feel like this about Cameron. He was different. And every single thing he did it just made me like him more. I got dressed, tried to look kinda pretty somehow. Some of the guys weren’t ready yet. So I just came out of the house to take some breath.

.- Beautiful night, huh?.-

I turned around, i could recognize his voice.

.- It is.- i said smiling

He came closer and we sat on the stairs.

.- I know this is not east. But I also know we can make this.-

.- Of course.- i said

He held my hand and smiled. I just could look at him lost in his eyes and his smile. My stomach was churning and it was all for it.

.- You told Taylor no?.- he asked

.- Yes, well she’s my best friend… how did you know that?.-

.- Because i heard her screaming on the beach. She wasn’t dissimulated at all.-

I laugh.

.- Indeed not, she isn’t good dissimulating.- i said

.- You aren’t good dissimulating either. Zach is just about to come outside.- Taylor said behind

Once again we had to let go our hands and we stand up.

.- Guys please. If you really don’t want him to find this out, you have to try at least a little more.- Tay said

.- Sorry mom, it wasn’t our intention.- Cameron joked

.- I’m not your mother kid.- she said

We just laugh and the other guys came outside

.- Let’s go!.- Mikey said excited

Beside You: Chapter XIII

Cameron and I were frozen. None of us said anything at all. He just let me down and turned around. I didn’t have a better idea than hiding myself behind him. I was feeling ‘protect’ somehow.

.- Hi.- Cam said

.- Woah! Cameron! I can’t believe this. Since when are you guys…?.-

.- Michael you have to promise that you won’t tell anyone, not even Zach.- Cameron said

.- I have to think about that.- Mikey said

.- C’mon Mikey! I’d give you free food for a month.- I said

.- Did you said food? Well now we understand each other. Don’t worry. But you have to tell me everything.- he said

I knew Mikey wouldn’t tell anyone this, I just had to be sure giving him his biggest weakness. Cameron took my hand and we went out of the pool. I took some towels and dry a bit. So did Cameron, while we just kept looking at each other.

.- Oh God I’m going to throw up.- Mikey said

.- Don’t be jealous.- Cameron said

.- Look Cameron don’t even try to fight with me… because i can go and tell Zach that you almost kissed his little sister.- Mikey said

.- No, you won’t.- i said

.- I still can’t believe you both are like…that.- he said

I put my clothes on and we went out. Cameron holds my hand.

.- If you want to keep this as a secret, don’t you think it’d be better if you don’t hold hands and look to each other with that in love faces?.-

.- You’re right.- i said

I let Cameron hand and went across Mikey.

.- So… I’m still waiting for you to tell me.- he said

.- Okay, we’ll tell you…- Cameron said

While we walked toward the guys Cameron told Mikey what was going on. Mikey was an amazing friend. And he understood our fears to Zach. Although he thought it would be a better idea if we tell him. We already could see the guys, the girls sunbathing on the side and the boys playing soccer.

.- Life’s things… although I must say I don’t know why, but I always noticed that you guys should be together.- Mikey said

Cameron and I looked at each other and smiled.

Zach’s POV

While we were playing some soccer with Nate I could see Cameron, Michael and my sister coming to us. Now that I think about it, it’s been while since I haven’t seen Cameron, as I haven’t seen Connie. I knew Mikey came to look for some games to play in the beach, but he didn’t have anything on his hands. This was weird. Since when my sister and my best friend were spending so many time together?. Well maybe it was just because we were in summer. I was kinda worry though. I’m pretty jealous with my sister. I never liked to see her with boys and things like that. Connie beside to be my sister is my best friend, since we’re kids I have this feeling about protecting her, mostly to protect her of boys breaking her heart. I knew she had a terrible relationship with this guy Nicholas who broke her heart. I didn’t want to see her like that again. Although I know that someday she will find the one, but for now I have to protect her.

.- What a surprise.- i said while they were finally here

.- Surprise to see me?.- Michael joked

.- No, surprise to see my sister and my friend Cameron.- I said

I noticed how they both started to get nervous. It wasn’t a good sign. Connie just went with the girls. Cameron came closer to us.

.- C’mon Nate, let’s play a good game. It’s time to show you who’s the best.- Cameron said to Nate

I came closer to Michael. I knew he was hiding something.

.- So Michael… what’s up?.-

.- What’s up with what?.-

.- C’mon dude. I’m being serious. If you want i can buy you food and then we can talk.-

.- Food? Nah, i’m not hungry.- he said while he join Cameron and Nate in their game

Maybe Michael didn’t want to tell me what was going on, and if he rejects food it’s obvious he was actually hiding something. I was almost sure that between Cameron and Connie was something going on and nobody wanted to tell me. This is just getting started.

Beside You: Chapter XII

I smiled and she smiled back. I started to consider about telling her what was happening. But I didn’t want to ruin that awesome moment. I came as closer to her as I could. As long as she let me of course.

.- Do you think that we can get to be a famous band?.- i asked her

.- I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure about it. Why that question?.-

.- I don’t know… sometimes I think that we are working so hard and we aren’t getting anything.-

.- It just about keep trying it. Don’t worry, you’re all amazing guys. And a different band. But you have to believe. If you believe in something and you really want it, then it’s just about time.- she said

.- How do you do that?.-

.- How I do what?.-

.- That. Those words. Everything.-

.- You wanted my opinion, there you have it. Any girl would die for a boy like you, with awesome bass skills and your attitude.- she said

.- Any girl?.- i asked

.- Yes…-

.- Also a girl named Connie Porter?.-

She just laughs and threw me water. I didn’t doubt and did the same thing, that’s how we end in a water ‘war’.

.- You are trying to be funny and to drown me, but you’ll see you’re quite weak.- i said

.- What are you talking about?.-

.- You’ll see.- i said while i took her in my arms and lifting her

.- No! Hahaha.-

Connie’s POV

Cameron was lifting me with his arms. I felt as if I was in heaven. I didn’t care about anything cause I was with him. I was really happy to have him so close.

.- There’s so much I’d like to tell you.- he said

.- I know. I wanted to tell you some things too.-

.- And why you didn’t?.-

.- For the same reasons as you don’t tell me.- i answered

.- I tried. But i couldn’t find the right situation. Although i think it’s time for you to know.-

I was still on his arms. I didn’t know what I was expecting for. I was totally nervous.

.- You’ll see… it’s not easy for me to tell you. But… i have feelings for you since some years ago. And those are not only friendship feelings. It’s so much more. Everytime i see you is like my world starts spinning. You’re the only girl who can make my knees shake. I wanted to tell you this before, but I guess I was kinda weak. I don’t want to freak you out.- he said

Cameron. Just. Said. He. Has. Feelings. For. Me. I couldn’t help but smile.

.- It’s so good to hear that. Indeed i also feel something for you. And to be honest I don’t really care anymore if you’re or not my brother’s best friend. I know that what I feel for you is beyond that.-

Cameron came even closer to me. I closed my eyes and I was going to let things happen in the way it had to happen. His lips were about to touch mine when…

.- Cameron?! Connie?!.- said a guy
